TEMUKA FIRE BRIGADE.
A meeting of the Temuka Fire Brigade took place at the engine shed on Tuesday evening last. Present —Lieut. Gentleman, J. G. Mason, J. Heap, Moats, Mahanki, Copestake, Guy and Watson. The minutes of last meeting wore read and continued. A letter was read from Mr \V, Smith, the late Treasurer, tendering his reaignat’on. R'-solved that the an mo be .accept ed with regret, and that I lie Secretary bo i structed to write to Mr Smith, thanking' him for his past cervices to the brigade. Mr Win. Weir and Mr George Davey were proposed and accept'd as active members. Considerable discussion then took place an to the advisability of disbanding the brigade, owing to the public not having' taken any interest in the same for the past IS months.
Ultimately it was resolved that,owing to the poor attendance, tho annual meeting be postponed till Tuesday next, tho 3rd February.
