MILFORD.

On Thursday last the children attending the Wesleyan Sabbath School, with their teachers and friends, were entertained at the residence of Mr and Mrs TV”oodhead. The day was all that could be desired, and nothing was omitted by the kind entertainers that could contribute to the enjoyment of those present. Various sports were prepared for the children, races, swings, &c. At three o’clock they were assembled in the marquee, which was erected for the occasion, and nicely decorated with flags, when the Rev, Mr. Harper distributed, at the request of the teachers, a prize to each child. About four o’clock a sumptuous tea was yartaken of.Jand ■when ample justice had boon done by all, there was abundance of the good things to sp :, re. Tea over, various sports were resumed, the most prominent being races, in which young and old heartily engaged. Nineteen prizes, the gift of Mr and Mrs Woodhead, were awarded to the successful competitors, amongst the girls and boys, At seven o’clock the children were formed in a circle, when the Rev Gf. Barclay gave a very interesting address to children, teachers, and parents. Three hearty cheers were then given for Mr and Mrs Woodhead, and also for the teachers end the Revs Barclay and Marne' - , after -which the children returned to their homos, high ly pleased with the happy day that they had spent.
