TEMUKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The'usual monthly meeting-of the Tern uka* School Committee was held last Tiiesdav.

Members present : M'' K sr s A. Wilson (Chairmaii), Wills, Storey, Hooper, Russell anil Brown,

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and continued. Accounts to the amount of H2 15s 6d were passed for payment. The schoolmaster’s report for month ending Dec 3.lst was as b Hows : Numb r on roll, 175 boys ; 171 girls ; total, 346. Average daily attendance ; Boys, 114 8 ; girls, 97-2; total, 212. COIOIESrONDENCE. From the Educational Board, asking the Committee to. nominate two eligible' per sons for election Board.

Resolved that Messrs Wilson and Wills be nominated for the same.

From the same, stating that Mr John Delaney’s tender of LllS 13s, for croc, tion of closets, etc., was accepted, and any suggestions from the Committee, which would not entail .any additional expense, would receive the fullest attention by the architect. Resolved that the Committee (not having any plans before them) are unable to make any, and that the Secretary be instructed to app'y for a copy of same. From same, stating that the Board in. tended taking steps for dividing the infant department from the main schocd, and placing the management of same under an infant mistress.

It was resolved that the steps intended to be taken by the Board meets with the approval of this Committee. Resolved that the Chairman (Mr Wilson), Mr Wills and the Secretary draw up the Committee’s annual report, in compliance witii clause 64 of the Education 1877. Messrs Brown and Wills were appointed visitors for the ensuing month. The usual vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
