The Temuka Leader. SATURDAY, DECEMBURE 19, 1879.
Ws observe that the editor of our contemporary, the Timaru Herald, has had another fling at the late Chairman of the G'-raldine County Council. What lias disturbed his risible temper just now 1 What a pity that this, "great man of talent " and " consistent conduct ,J wan not mado Premier. : nstead of being constituted the Hali. Government puppet, put up \o ask such questions as suits the Government to put in iiis mouth. What a pity that such a kind, forgiving-" creature should be so much neglected by his cons'ituents and ciuiti'y ! What a glorious opportunity he has had, too, of making liis preat abilities known through iiie Herald's "spec'al correspondent" ai Wellington ! Surel}*this part of the colony must be very far back when it does not appreciate bis kind offer to serve them. Could not the Levels Road Board do something for him 1 It cannot deny that he deserves iis sympathy !
