Mr Turnbull opposed" the motion and after some debato on technical points in regard to laying the proclamation on *~ the table of the House, the debate was adjourned for one week. GnRISTCHURCH, NOT. 12. The annual exhibition of the Canterbury A. and P. Association took place to-day, at Colombo Road, and was in every respect asuccess. The weather was threatening all day, but the rain kept off. About 1,500 people were present, including the Governor and suite. The ahow of cattls and sheep was splendid, as was also that of horses and implements. The Hon K. Campbell gained the principal prize taken in merinos and English leicesters, P. C. Threkcld took first prize for border leicesters. Messrs H. R. and J. E. Parker took T first prizes and 4 seconds. Mr F. Sutton took the principal prize in lincoln and romney marsh. Mr Jenkins and Messrs Williams and Car* ter were prominent. Messrs Ford and Co took all first prizes in cots wold 8. W. J. Wash bourne took [prizes in south downs'. Mr Kite!; ing took 4 first prizes in shorthorns and Hereford cattle. Mr Alfred Cox took two first prizes, and one second. Alderney cattle, best bull and cow, W. J. Bluett, Ayrshire, best bull, W. Cooke. Breton cattle, best bull and cow, R. Wilkin Draft entires, Ist prize, McKellar's Prince Royal. Thoroughbreds, Ist, Mr Charles Lewis's Daniel O'Rourke, 2nd, Mr Webb's Papapa. Best blood mare, foal at foot, Mr Webb's Revoke took first prize. There were 2,500 peoole visited the Flower Show to-day. To-morrow's races are sxprcted to be good but the weather is very threatening.
