Tho disturbances in Ireland are spreading, One regiment of cavalry and two battalions of infantry have been sent as reinforcements, on account of the disturbed state of the country. Count -Schouvaloff has returned to his post at London. Oct. 11. The Union Bank announces a loan of £50,000 for the completion of the Christchurch Cathedral. Calcutta, Oct. 10. General Roberts is before Cabal. On the Bh, Massy was detached in order to cut off retreat, and captured 78 guns. Oct. 12. The Dutchess of Cumberland has been delivered of of a daughter. The Secretary of State for the Home Department stated at a Conservative meeting at Leigh that the Afghan policy was unchanged, but that the Government were not desirous to interfere with Afghanistan merely 'to ensure the domination of England.
