MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
Tile ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board wub held in tlie Road Board oilice. Peel Forest, on Friday 1 s>. Members present—The Hon. J. B. A. Ac-land (chairman). Messrs J. Wilson, J. Heri.'y, C, G. Tripp, and It. Maclcay. The mii'uti'K <if the former mealing were read and continued. Mr E 11 Guinness had an interview" with t!ie Board requesting tlie Board to improve the Boundary road from the Rangitafa terrace to Tripp's cutting. The clerk was instructed to write to the Geraldine Road Board, asking if that Board would share the cost of tlie work applied for by Mr Guinness, and would authorise the Mount Peel Board to call foi* tenders for the same. The following tenders were Accepted J No. 29 contract, Thomas Blair. L 92 15s ; No. 30, Thomas Blair, L 10 0; No. 31, Robert Cartwight, LB2 ; No. #2, T. Blair L2B 2s 6d ; No. 33, Michael'O'Donohue, LI 19 ; No. 34, James Oregon, L 65 ; No, 35, Patrick Fall, LlO 106. Tlie following correspondence was read and considered : From the Chief Surveyor, with refe* rence to survey of roads oil Raincliffl From the Survey office, Chridtchtirch, with inference to the destruction of survey marks by contractors an! others. From Mr J. If. R. KinJkforwarding plans of the roa.<% by him through the Allandale property. . . From Messrs Harper and Harper, warding opinion re Berridge's claim. From the Colonial Secretary's Office, forwarding form to be filled up showing icceipts and expenditure of tha Board for the past year. From the Plon. J. B.*Acland, requesting leave of absence during the ensuing sea* sion of Parliament. The request was granted. From Mr S. ;Bates, in reference to his contract near Mr Tripp's. The Overseer was instructed to see Mr Bates, and if no arrangement could be made to invite fresh tenders for the work. The Clerk was directed rto write to Mr J. H. R. King, requesting Eint fo prepare plans of the road proposed to.be stopped on the Raincliff run. To write to Mr J. Anderson, asking him to forward a copy of his letter to England with reference to the stonecrushing machine. To write to the Revising Commissioner, asking in what way the lists sent in by the Board under Section 3 of the Registration of E ectors Act, 1875, were informal. To write to Colonel Pack", asking upon what terms he will allow a road to be taken through section 19992.
