R.M. COURT.
Wednesday, September. 16th. Before Frank Grrinaess, Esq., R.M. James Barnard was charged with being drunk and disorderly. As this was his third offence within six iqpnths, he was fined £5, or in default two months in gaol, P. McCaskill was charged with removing trees from the Temnka Park. He pleaded not guilty. Mr Johnston appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Ilamersley for the defence. The evidence for the prosecution having been heard, Mr Hamersley made the objection that the Temuka Park Commissioners had no standing -'|n the, case, as it stated that the trees wore the property of the said commissioners, whereas there was no such body in existence. The learned counsel pointed out that the name of some member of the Board ought to have been inserted in the information. His Worship took the same view of the question, and dismissed the case. Mr Hamersley was refused a certificate of dismissal. CIVIL CASES. Several civil cases were disposed of by His Worship, which concluded the business of the Court. ,
