TEMUKA ANNUAL RACES. Stewards : W. Deßenzy, M. Spillane, A. D. Wilson, W. Williamson, W. 0. Nicholas, Dr. Hayes, and L. Tombs. Judge : Mr, John Paterson. Clerk of the Course : Mr. B. Thomson. Starter ; Mr. A. Macßratney. Clerk of Scales ; Mr. A. D. Wilson; Handicappers : H. D. MacPhcrson and C. Storey. The above annual race meeting took place on the old Temuka Course yesterday and was a great success, there being about 800 people on the ground. The races were the best contested that we have ever had here, and, wit 1 ; the exception of the Cup Race, the number of entries for each event was very good. In the Cup Race only two horses came to the post. We regret this, as it was the only opi>n race of the meeting and is scarcely an inducement for the stewards to have an open race next year. The condition of the course was in excellent order, and the committee’s arrangements were very good. Mr MacBratney had a very difficult dut}' to per form as starter, but he performed his duty creditably. The following is the order in which the races were run ;
