LATEST NATIVE INTELLIGENCE.

New Plymouth, July 14. About 200 Natives passed through the town this morning, ou their way to Purihaka. The forthcoming meeting is looked forward to as one of very great importance, for the matter connected with the ploughing is to be settled. The following are Te Whiti'a views on the subject, as stated to one of the Natives who assisted : —The ploughing has been a great success, the pakehas used to some purpose, and the Government has been irritated into advancing him (Te Whiti) another step towards hi-* final destination But they shall lay their hands on you, delivering you up to the synagogue and into prison, being brought before kings and rulers on the Government for my name's sake. All the prisoners should be sent'to Wellington to complete and make plain the scripture. But that is a small matter as a great stride has been taken towards the eud. The next step will be a more difficult one, and they (the Moaris) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations, and Jerusalem shall be.trodden down by the Gentiles untill the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled. An influential Native in town on Saturday, in talking about Native affairs, expressed a very decided opinion that if the Government were to attempt to carry on road-making and railways, the Natives would make a determined stand against it, and, if necessary, would take up arms. The County Council to-day passed a resolution recommending the Government to make roads and a railway through the confiscated lands aud through Parihaka.
