LATEST CAPE NEWS. Adeliade, July 7. The following news has lias been received from the Cape.per s.s. Lusitania : Colonel Pearson has been invalided Home. Sir Bartle Frere has returned to Cape Town, where he was enthusiastically received. A large quantity of commissariat stores lias been burnt at Greyton. The reported Zulu raid into Natal is devoid of foundation. A portion of the sub-marine cable has arrived at Port Natal. The British advance into Zululand commenced on May 29th. It was expected the troops would at once make a dash on Undini, Cetewayo's chief krall. Owing to the heavy rains, much sickness lias prevailed amongst the officers and men of the Coast column. It is stated that reinforcements have joined Cctewayo, and that the yeomanry camp was surprised by Zulus on the 29th May, and several of our men assegaied. Sydney, July 7. The Cape correspondent of the ' Evening News' alleges that the Biitish escort of Prince Napoleon galloped off and left him to his fate. Captain Carey was met by the General galloping campwards, and he will be court martialled.
