ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, May C. The Secretary of State for Eoreign Affairs, in reply to a question, said that the Government accept the Russian interpretation of the Treaty of Berlin. The evacuation of Bulgaria and Roumelia was to commence on the 3rd May and end on the 3rd August. An autograph letter from the Emperor of Russia to the Sultan notifies that the evacuation has commenced, and urges friendly relations between the two countries. Wheat, 6d per quarter higher. Mutton tallow, 6d per cwt. lower. Isaac Butt, M.P. for Limerick, is dead. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in reply to a question, said that with a view to an early settlement of the difficulties in Zululand, instructions had been sent to the Governor and High Commissioner to abstain from a policy of annexation, and to confine his efforts to protecting the colonies from danger. The Secretary of Stato for Foreign Affairs, in reply to a question, said that lie believed that all the Powers would agree to the proposal for mediation by the French Minist3r for Foreign Affairs, between Greece and Turkey. The House ef Lords have received a petition from Sydney, praying tliem to pass the Marriage with Deceased Wife's Sister Bill. May 7. The House of Lords threw out, on the second reading, the Bill for legalising marriage with the deceased wife's sister. The Prince of Wales is said to have privately supported the Bill, and presented a petition in its favor. Cape Town news lias been received to April 23. The movements preparatory to the Britisli advance into Zululand have commenced. The actual British advance takes place in a fortnight. Constantinople, May 7. The Russians have evacuated Roumelia. AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, May 0. The arrangements for an Australian cricket team to visit England next year are progressing favorably. There is a good market for New Zealand oat?. May 7. In New Caledonia there is an outcry, and petitions are being signed against Mr Higginsou's Mining monopoly. The rebel chiefs have been sent to Tahite. The ironclads Bourbon, Victorieuse, and Huron have gone to watch the Chilian war. A combined attempt to rig the Sydney grain market failed. May 8. The return ball to the Mayor last night was crowded.
