Richer than Gold Mixes.—Despite the immense yield of gold in California it is now shown that her tillable soil produces more actual wealth than her richest minus. Her grain and her fruits exceed in value the best of her-^lacers. Her grape crop this season wis he so very large that preprations are Snaking to convert 1000 tons of grapes into raisins. Most, people think of California •Willy as a gold-bearing State, and it is pleasant to know that her agricultural resources are beyond those of her mines. Agriculture is apt to pay better than gold or silver-seeking in any fertile, region.
