CORRESPONDENCE.

[We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.] (TO THE EDITOR. OF THE TEjVTDKA LEADER.) Sir,- Being in the Presbyterian Church but on Sunday last, I was shocked to hear Mr Barclay put a construction upon your paragraph which I am sure was not the correct thing. I, and many more presbyterians, have been really and truiy ashamed of the church for a long time past, and have even heard members of othei churches say it was a disgrace to Temufel to see a church in such a state. I have often also been enquired of as to the want of life in the congregation. The ~" reason is not far to seek, with such a parish as Mr Barclay has to look after, it would take three or four ministers to attend to it. It need not, therefore, _be wondered at that Mr Barclay has no time to attend to the young • people, but I do not think, Mr Editor, that you are deserv""""""i'ng of the abuse heaped upon your head last Sunday for doing what was your simple duty as a journalist. In conclusion, I think it is time the committee, the session, or .the Presbytery, or whosoever it belongs to, to see to it that an end ig put to these personal attacks, and to -- reading newspapers from the pulpit after the sermon. —1 am, &c, A Presbyterian.
