Women's Institute

Marangai: Mrs, Bramwell presided at the monthly meeting. when Mrs. Kaye gave a talk on the aims and ideals of the institute. It was decided to give £5 to the Red Cross Society for the prisoners of war fund. Mesdames Bramwell, Parker and Suckling sang a trio, and Mrs. Suckling gave a solo. Competitions resulted : Bloom, Mrs. Edgecombe I, Mrs. P. Dickson 2, Mrs. Bramwell 3 : handkerchief, Mrs. Bird ; sweets, Mrs. T. Allen. Another competition was won by Mrs. F. Page and Miss D.' Honkins, Hostesses were Mesdames Charman, Wagstaff and Chappel. Puketotara: The monthly meeting was held in the home of Mrs. P. A. Milne. Miss White conducted the meeting, and three new memhers were welcomed. Mrs. Wagstaif gave a talk on Somes Island. Comnetitions resulted: Bloom, Mrs. Milne 1, Mrs. Bolton 2: kitchen utensil, Mrs. Williams- Hostesses were Mesdames Fahey and Jack.
