Waverley Football

A good standard of play was shown 'in a Rugby challenge match between Pirates Senior B (Wanganui) and Waverley Senior B, played at Waverley on Saturday. A feature oi the game was the play of two brothers, J. Taunton, half for pirates, and F. Taunton, half for Waverley. Both teams scored a try in the first 10 minutes, neither being converted, and the game was 3 all till near the end, when Pirates managed to scramble over, S. Head convcrting. The final score waa Pirates 8, Waverley 3. D. Barnes and M. O'Connor scoring for Pirates and Len Aiken for Waverley. Mr. F. McKenna refereed.
