National Day of Prayer

Short public services will be held at New Plymouth and Hawera on Thursday, which, in accordance with the wish of the King, will be observed as a national day of prayer throughout the , Dominion. At New Plymouth business firms will ! be closed for a short time to enable j employees to attend a public service, j and at Hawera similar action is sought | by the Mayor. Mr. L. H. Clapham. The services will he/ conducted in the Opera Houses at Hawera and New PlyI mouth, the New Plymouth service being conducted by members oi the New Plymouth Ministers' Association. It is understood the Mayor. Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour, will also speak.
