Presentation at Pihama

A social evening was held in the Pihama hnll in honour of Private W. C. Richard. Mr. J. D. Conaglen, on behalf of settlers, made a presentation to Private Richards. Mr. R. W. Haseltine, on behalf of the Pihama men's hockey club, presented Private Richards with a gift. Dance music was played by Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith and Mr. M. Linnel. Messrs. A. Campbell, J. Stevenson and J. Conaglen were masters of ceremonies. Extras were played by Messrs. A. and M. Beauland and Mr. J. Coffey. A posy was presented to Mrs. W. Richards by Jean Forsyth. The annual fancy dress dance of the Pihama echool was attended by a large number of parents and friends. Mr. D. Richards played dance music. Several items were given by pupils. Miss M. Campbell, Morrinsville, is visiting the district. Mr. r.nd Mrs. C. Bothgate are , visiting Wanganui. Mr. W. A. Sheat has been visiting Wellington.
