Celebrations at Hawera To Mark Golden Wedding

To celebrate t.he 50th anniversary of their wedding, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Collins, Hawera, held a family gatherjng. The marriage took place in the Whiteley Memorial Methodist Church, New Plymouth, on August 24, 1892, and Mr. and Mrs. Collins lived in varioua parts of New Zealand before arriving 10 years ago to live at Hawera. Mr. Collins, who left the merchant navy to live in New Zealand, was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Collins, Kent, England. Mrs. Collins was born at New Plymouth, and was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Lister, early pioneers. Telegrams of congratulation ineluded ones from the Governor-G-eneral, Sii Cyril Newall, and the Mayor of Hawera, Mr. L. H. Clapham.:
