U-boat Captured And Another Sunk Off Cuba

Rec. 12.15 a.m. Havana, Aug. 29. The newspaper E1 Crisol reports that an Axis submarine has been sunk and another captured witli 35 members of the crew off Eastern Cuba. The United States Navy Department announces the loss of two more Allied merchantmen as a result of submarine attacks on a medium-sized British ship which was torpedoed and shelled off the north coast of South America. Eighteen members of the crew were rescued. The captain abd 45 other members of the crew are still missing. A medium-sized American ship was torpedoed in the Caribbean, the entire crew being saved.
