Lepperton District News
A social evening was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Taylor, Corbett Road, in honour of their daughter, Thelma, who was recently married to Private A. S. Longstaff. About 50 guests were present. Community singing was held. Mr. Frank Barribal played music. Prizewinners at cards were: Mrs. Hart 1, Mrs. Green 2; Mr. Bert Wells 1, Mr. Pat Locke 2 ; Miss I. Old consolation. Numerous gifts were presented to the guests of honour. A flag 500 party. organised by St. Mark's Guild, was held in the home of Mrs. W. G. Clark. Prizewinners were Mesdames Payne, R. Paul. R. Allen and L. Browning. Mrs. Yelvfirton, who spent some months with her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Sinclair, ,has returned to Dannevirke. Mr. G. J. Joyce, Wellington, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey. Mr. and Mrs. A. Campbell, Otakeho, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Symes, Richmond Road. Mr. J. Hunt. Midhirst, was recently the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Oliver. Jiiss Merle Jennins is spending the school holidays at her home on Mountain Road. Mr. Brison Lepper, who visited his home, has returned to Wanganui. Mrs. Scriviner, New Plymouth, has been visiting her sister-in-law, Mrs. A. B. Waldie. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Sinclair are visiting Opunake. Miss Fleming is spending the holidays at New Plymouth. Misses Edna Oliver and Joyce Wheeler are spending the holidays at their home.
