Good Equipment Received By Americans in Australia
Rec. 5.5 p.m. San Francisco, Aug. 26. "Our boys in Australia feel they are getting good equipment and are not at all downhearted," said General Royce to-day. "At present the Japanese Zero fighter is superior in some ways to our fighter planes, but we know this is being corrected. We expect to have better planes than the Japanese very soon." , General Royce told the San Francisco Chronicle that the navy action in the Solomons was supported by the United States Army Air Force. He declared that the Coral Sea battle proved the Allied forces in the South-west Pacific were too strong for a Japanese inv sion of Australia.
