Government Works On Stabilisation Plan

Press Assn.

Wellington, Last Night.

"The Government is working on a pian to stabilise all wages and costs, and that, I think, will be a big factor in all our future negotiations," said the Mimster of Agriculture, The Hon. J. G- Barclay, addressing the electoral committee of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board to-day. "The more stable we can keep our internal eeonomy at present the better will 'be our position at the end of the war. If we allowed prices to soar, and then flop back, we would not add to our strength. The -only men who would benefit would be speculators and those in between the producer and the consumer." |
