Several of Ihe Auekland-trained horscs with cngagements at the hunt clubs' niee!ing at Hawera on Saturday performed wel at the recenl Pakuranga Hunt meeting a-.ui promise to take a hnnd in thc finish oi their respective engagemenls. Town Survey was backrd down lo a short priee last Saturday due to ihe fact that hc had schooied hriliiantly at To Hapa. He w as always in* a handy position nnd had cvcry chance, but his i'encing was pateh.v. W'iien he put in a run and threatcned to give trouble hc came to gricf at the second to last fenre. Town Survey would cerlainly heneflt by thc run and has only to jnmp better at Hawera to take a power of heating in the Hack and Hiuiters' Hurdles. Venture also will carry plenly of support in Ihe same race. He is only a rccenl vecrull io jumping and has improved with each outing. 1-ast Saturday hc jumped well nnd was always in the picture and linished third bchind Flylijc and Surpecn. It should not he long before the Bron/.e Eag!e gelding is returned a winner. Aguilo, having liis llrst start for several months, flnlshed very delerminedly to beat thc well-performed Silvcr Note. The extra furlong of tlie Waihi Hack should hc to his advantage and it would not surprise were he to make it two on end. Aguilo is a six-year-old gelding by Bronze Eagle from Exactly and is trained at Te Ra pa by A. Winder. Golden Valley, a l.aekham fllly iiailing from Takanini, is cngaged in tlie Waverley Hack Handicap and will be pilotcd by S. Waddeil. Slic was a winner last season and has been going w^cll on the traek. track.
