Low-Altitude Photographs Assisted In Dieppe Raid

Rec. 7.45 p.m. London, Aug. 24. The success of the Dieppe raid was in part due to the excellent photographs I of the area taken beforehand. The Air Ministry news service discloses that some of the aircraft flew at zero feet over the area and photographs showed people in the streets as if they were taken from the upper window of a building. THe latest Canadian casualty list covering the Dieppe raid brings the total to 563, of whom 85 were killed, 354 wounded and 124 are missing. Vichy reports that the latest total of French civilian casualties at Dieppe is 80 killed and 92 injured-
