Mightiest Battleship Ahead of Schedule
Rec. 9.45 p.m. New York, Aug. 26. The mightiest battleship ever built, the 45,000-ton Iowa, will be launched ahead of schedule. Five similar Vessels are under constmction. Although the navy has not revealed the lowa's specifications, Janes Fighting Ships says Iowa class ships carry nine 16-inch guns and 20 five-inch guns and have a speed unofficially reported at 35 knots.
