Eltham Red Cross. At a meeting of the Eltham branch of the Red Cross Society Mrs. J. Cocker presided. It was decided that a determined effort be made to complete the names on a Red Cross hospital ship quilt. Injuries From Scalds. Suffering from severe scalds to a foot and leg when she overturned a kettle of boiling water. Marie White, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Les White, Ladies' Mile, Eltham, was admitted to a private hospital on Saturday. She is reported to be progressing satisfactorily. Presentations at Eltham. Presentations were made to two of the staff of the Taranaki Electric Power Board at Eltham on Saturday. Miss Netta Whiting, who has been a clerical assistant for W/z years, received a crystal rose bowl, wine glasses and a hook before her departurr* take up a position at Wellington. Mr. T. Carlyon, a meter reader, who was married on Saturday, also received a gift, the presentations being made by the secretary, Mr. J. R. Miller.
