Bashful Lady, the Winter Cup winner, should be seen to advantage later on m the better class sprint races at summer meetings. She reaches her speed quickly and looks the ideal type for a race like the Stewards' Handicap at Riccarton ln November. Transferred to Te Hapa. Mr. G. Murray-Aynsley has sold his four-vear-old fllly Irate, by Myosotis from ilerate. bv Silverado from Reproachful. dam 6f Chide. She was bought by the Te Rapa trainer, J. L. Muir, for one of his patrons, who intends to keep her for the stud after her racing is finished. May Now Come Right. Siyana, a daughter of Bulandshar, won in "decisive fashion at Hastings and a feature of her performance was the solid manner in which she finished. Siyana is a daughter of Hathor, who produeed ' Hest, Shu and Hagen, so she has family credentials which appear to be an asset. Hathor was sired by Desert Gold's brother Egypt. 7 "™" . "1 7'T Well-bred Colt. John Gay, who finished second to Botany in the Cashmere Plate, created a favourable impression. He is a well-bred three-year-old brown colt by Theio from Jenny Diver, sister to McHeath and half-sister to Lockit, by Lord Quex from Polly Peachum, a half-sister to Runnymede and My Own, dam of the New Zealand Cup winner Yours Truly. John Gay was purchased at the Trentham saies by Mr. H. D. Greenwood for 210 gns. Pleased It Wai Renascor. // Mr. L. H. Collinson stated at Palmerston North recently that though his horse Foxiana was beaten in the National Hurdles, he was glad it had been by Renascor. He added that he bought Spowshoe, the dam of Renascor. as a yearling at Waikanae, just as earlier he . had bought Martulla, the dam of Foxiana. He also said that he had raced Martulla and Snowshoe and that he had daughters from them by Coronach at present running in the same paddock. Botany's Next Start. Botany will probably have his next race in the John Grigg Stakes at Ashburton next month and the Pink Coat-Denlse colt may .go close to repeating the winning form he ahowed in the Cashmere Plate. 'D. Cotton was. not so fortunate with other members of his team at the meeting, as Fur Cont, which looked like showing form early, was galioped on during the running of the Avonhead Handicap. Little Secret, another member of the team, suffered from inflamination of the feet and could npt run. Battledress Has Won £3620. The Okaiawa-owned Battledress, who is top-weiglit in the open distance event to be run at the combined hunt clubs' meeting, was runner-up in the list of winning horses last year with £3620. The Posterity gelding was headed only by Happy Ending, who won £3765. Thirteen horses secured over £2000 in stakes.
