Fire Destroys Large Wool Store at Blenheim
Blenheim, Aug. 24. One of the largest stores at Blenheim's riverside wharves was destroyed by fire at 9.30 this morning, as well as a small quantity of baled wool, hay and straw. The building, constructed of corrugated iron, was a seething mass of flames when the brigade arrived. Owned by the Wairau Harbour Board the store was insured for £1400. The hay and wool were owned by C. W. Parker and Co. and Levin and Co.
