Submarines Score Successes Against Enemy

London, August 24. Further successes by British sub-' marines in the Mediterranean and the North Sea are announced by the Admiralty. One medium-sized enemy supply ship that had been bombed from the air and stopped in the Mediterranean was later attacked by a submarine. A torpedo was fired at her, a tremendous explosion followed, and the ship sank at once. Off the Norwegian coast an escorted convoy was sighted and attacked by a submarine. A hit was scored on the leading ship, and it is believed to have been sunk.
