Tarurutangi Cricket Club
At the annusl euchre party and dance held by the Tarurutangi Cricket Club an extra was played by Mrs. E. Giddy. Monte Carlo waltzcs were won by Miss K. Martin and Mr. K. Martin and Miss M. Copestake and Mr. K. Arbucklo. A mystery Gay Gordons was won by Miss E. Old and Private G. Stewart. Several itctns were given by Stuart Gordon, the blind inusieian. Euchre prizewlnners were Mrs. R. Bishop and Private R. Smith. To raise funds for coittforts for soldlers Tarurutangi school children hctd a social al'ternoon. A stall, and elock golf did brisk business. Mr. R. Streel, chairman of the schpol committee, referred to the work of the schoolmaster, Mr. Ciegg, who is leaving, in the iast three months. Mr. Ken Smflatr spoke on behalf of children. Afternoon tea was served by the women. Miss G. Morrison, Waverley, has been the guest of Miss D. Stewart. Mrs. M. Fenwick has returned from Hawera. Mrs. D. Bishop is the guest of Mrs. W. Cole. Mrs. Corbett has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. N. Fablsh.
