i The Taranaki Acclimatisation Society's ' hatchery at Durham Road, Inglewood, is in good order for the rearing of fish in the coming season, but there are marked signs of pollution in the Ngatoro stream, the water of which feeds the hatchery. When members of the council of the society visited the hatchery on Saturday anJ met Mr. J. J. Miller, curator, they expressed themselves as very pleased with the condition of the buildings and general arrangements inside the hatchery where from 80,000 to 90,000 trout ova are already being reared. Arrangements have been completed for the rearing of a further 150.000, to arrive in a few days. Distinct signs of pollution in the stream by oil and animal manure were noticed.
