British Submarine Upholder Reported Lost

Rec. 10.15 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 22. The Admiralty announces with regret that , the submarine Upholder has been lost. Commenting that it is seldom that the Admiralty .draws a distinction between eervices rendered in the course oi naval duty, the statement says that the Upholder, under Lieutenant-Commander Wanklyn, V.C., D.S.O., deserves special mention. The Upholder was long employed against enemy communications in the Mediterranean, where the daring displayed was an inspiration to all others.
