Birthday Party at Ohura

The coming-of-age of Private A. Goldfinch, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Goldfinch. was celebrated at the home of Mr. G. Goldfinch, Ohura. Dance music was played by Messrs. R. Beil (accordion) and W. Box (banjo). Community singing was held, and songs were given by Messrs. L. Ralph and P. Russell. Mr. N. J[. B. Dougherty presented the guest of honour with a wristlet watch. A women's golf flag match played at Ohura was won by Mrs. A. A. Thompson. Miss Peggy McDonald, Auckland, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Carlson. Mrs. M. Kooney is visiting Auckland. Mr. Muggeridge, of the Y.M.C.A., Featherston, visited Ohura recentiy. Mrs. Carlson has returned from the Taumarunui hospital. Mrs. S. Stevenson, Tarungimutu, is the guest of Mrs. J. Garvey. Miss B. Kooney is visiting Pt. Chevalier. Mr. L. Coldstream, Stratford, was the guest of his mother, Mrs. L. Coldstream, recentiy. Mr. and Mrs. J. Potter have returned from Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd have left for Henderson. Mrs. Jones has returned to Palmerston North. Misses T. Baker and T. Christensen, Waitaanga, have returned from Hamilton. Miss I. Hunt, Stratford, was the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hunt, recentiy. Mr. N. Jones, Kaponga, recentiy visited Ohura.
