The Christian Order
Sir,— lt is obvidiis that the members of the Stratford Borough Couneil have a very vague idea of what the Campelgn for Christian Order is seeking to achieve, First it is most emphatically not a political organisation. It is an attempt on behalf of all the pfirtleipfiting churches to Simultaneously place before the nation the great Christian truths. We believe that only the acceptance of these truths can bring the new world order. The vast majority of church people are completely behind the war effort, but while the war Is being waged with every energy we must also prepare for peace. The foundations of the new world order must be laid by God. God can bring good out of evil, love out of hate, a new world out of the old, but only if we are willing. We must seek His wlll and obey it to the uttermost. If we are willing to have a new world order we must start here in New Zealand and we must have Christian motives and methods in every detail of personal, family and national life. The churches have aecepted the challenge of the hour, they confess their failures in the past and pledge themselves to begin putting their own hoUse in order, to show more unity in their work and so give fl vigorous lead to the nation. This is the campaign for Christian Order "to proclaim to the nation through the church the message of the living God to-day." And the fact that there are seven participating churches is surely a guarantee that it is in no way a political organlsation. — We are, etc., D. B. MALCOLM, Hawera. E. FRANCIS FARR. Patea. Chairman and Secretary, Taranaki area.
