No Prosecutions Pending New Parking Light Rules
Until further regulations are issued concerning the parking of unlighted motor-cars in headlight restriction and parking light areas no prosecutions are being authorised by the Commissioner of Transport, Wellington, according to advice received by Mr. F. L. Frost* M.P. The question was taken up by Mr. Frost with the commissioner, following a number of prosecutions at New Plymouth in which there appeared to be some conflict of opinion with regard to traffic regulations and reduced lightmg regulations. . Mr. Frost, who returned last night from Wellington, has been informed by the commissioner that so far as his department is concerned, no prosecutions are being authorised for the parking of cars without lights in headlight and parking light areas, pending the issue of regulations, which are at present under consideration, authorising the parking of vehicles without lights in such areas.
