Farewell at Rowan
Presentation at Te Kiri
Leading Aircraftman Clements was guest of honour at a social evening at Te Kiri, when a presentation on behalf of residents was made by Mr. Collins. Mrs. Horgan made a presentation of a parcel from the VVomen's lnstitute. On behalf of school children. Mr. Dormer presented Leading Aircraftman Clements with a parcel. Mr. F. Maindonald, Opunake, is staying with Mr. G. Sayed. Mrs. Bishop, Manaia, has returned home after staying with her son, Mr. J. Bishop. Mr, R. C. Watson recently visited Wanganui.
' A farewell party was given at Rowan in honour of Mr. and Mrs. M. Jensen, who have left the district to live at Kaponga. Mr. R. Dempsey spoke of the e3teem in which Mr. and Mrs. Jensen were held. and the guests of honour were presented with a bronze fire screen from residents. Gifts were given to Helen Jensen and to Miss Heather Watt, Mrs. Jensen's sister. Euchre prize3 were won by Miss Gladys Davison and Mr. Alderton. Monte Carlo dances were won by Mrs. J Barleyman and Mr. J. Dunlop Dance extras were played by Mrs. R. Avery and Mrs. D. Nicholson.
