"Merrie England."

The second performance of "Merrie England," Basil Hood's comic opera, was presented by pupils of the New Plymouth Girls' High School at the Opera House last night, and played to an even larger audience than that of the previous evening. The performers were at ease and gave a poised and finished rendering. Worthy of note was the excellent costuming which, in view of the rationing of material, showed considerable ingenuity on the part of the staff.
