QUALITY Y"EARLINGS Jersey type, production (backed by consistent records obtained under ordinary herd conditions) and robust constitution are factors that have caused the annual offering from Mr. F. Muggeridge's Home Bush Stud to be in keen demand at the Hawera Jersey Club fair. The offering this year comprising an even line of nine well-grown quality yearlings promises to elicit equally spirited competition. Eight of the yearlings are by Pine- j wood's Standard Ace, a son of Brampton Standard Compte (imported by Mr. j G. H. Bell. Oakura), a most successfuli herd sire. with three C.O.R. daughters ; up to 5601b fat as junior two-year-olds ! and also very successful in the snow ring. ; Standard Compte 's sire, Volunteer of j Oaklands, besides winning the Peer Cup ' over Jersey as well as bull and progeny . prizes also sired 28 tested daughters up ; to 8311b fat. Compte's dam. Standard's ' Comptesse, had records of 6461b fat at j three years and 6331b fat at six years. ' The dam of Pinewoods Standard Ace, Hua Brook Roseaire, V.H.C.. with three i records 462.211b fat at one year 320 days. ' 3801b fat at four years 44 days and 5451b j fat at five years 12 days. Roseaire's dam is a full-sister to Oakvale Twinkle. C.O.R. J 7311b fat. The first yearling, Home Bush Messen-j ger, is out of Lincolndale Lorna (5751b! fat), a dam with several strains of Holly : Oak blood. The next, Homebush Mag- j net, is out of Homebush Dawn (dam of j the highest price Home Bush yearling | last year). She carries two strains of i Lilybank's Distmction, whose dam pro-| duced 6681b fat as a two-year-old, and I whose daughters running with the herd I at Home Bush produced up to 6021b. five averaging 3631b fat. The yearling Home I Bnsh Modesty, out of Home Bush Graceful (3081b fat as two-year-old), carries the Holly Oak and Tw.vlish blood. Home Bush Model is out of Home Bush Daisy, a Twylish cow that tested 4501b fat. 4201b fat, 4321b fat in 248 days, at. 13 years of age. half-sister to Home Bush Konini. I 4511b fat in 250 days at 16 years, and i.s still milking at 17 years, showing that the stud is full of robust constitution. Home Bush MLnister is out of a granddaughter of that great Grannie's Knight, C.B.B. (sire of 62 tested daughters including Holly Oak Annie. 1056.491b fat). The yearlings Home Bush Moses and Moongleam are from grand-daughters of Mercedes Noble Lady on the paternal | side and Lily Bank Distinction on the ; maternal side. Under test now they are doing up to 631b a month. Home Bush Moonshine is out of a Lily Bank Distinction cow. Lilly. who has four group tests, averaging 535.51b fat. One yearling. Home Bush Moonbeam, is by that young aristocrat Home Bush Horatio, by Glenmore Soumise Noble, (whose sire, Pinewood's Golden Soumise, was a son of the great Viola's Golden Laddie (imp.), C.B.B. , 30 C.O.R. daughters. with numerous show records. Golden Soumise's dam is by Soumise Majesty (imp.), sire of 12 C.O.R. daughters, out of the dam of Soumise Tom. whose 15 tested daughters averaged 7101b fat (includina Lady Superior. 9971b). The dam of Soumise Noble Mercedes Noble Lady is by K.C.B. (imp.).- 30 C.O.R. daughters — Mercedes Noble Queen j (imp.) with a Victorian record of 6291b ; fat in 2-53 days. champion at New Zea- i land and Austraiian shows. Horatio is out of Home Bush Cherry. 5211b fat (Lily Bank Distinction — Home Bush Pansy, O-H.T. 5991b fat). Cherry's daughter gave up to 5131b fat. The yearling Moonbeam's dam. Blue Bell. is bv Lily Bank Distinction out of a Twylish cow with 9 group herd test of 4451b fat in 292 days.
