Club's Strong Position. Unusually strong finances are shown in the annual report of the Fitzroy Surf Club. Successful Gun Dog Trials. Large novice entries were the feature of the successful Taranaki gun dog trials held at Hawera. Spitfire Fund. With some amounts still to reach the treasurer the Taranaki Spitfire fund, which will close to-night, has reached £3808. Drizzle Developing. Mainly fair and cloudy weather with scattcred drizzle developing later in western districts is predicted in the official forecast. Increased Entries. Entries for the boys and girls' agricultural oompetitions in South Taranaki for the 1940-41 season number 1113, compared with 950 last year. Air Force Success. Air Force beat Albion in the fina] of the Duff Rosebowl competition. Air Force has now won all three Taranaki senior soccer trophies this season. Skiing Championships. Although rain marred the occasion to some extent. there was a fair crowd at the annual skiing championships of the Taranaki Alpine Club at North Egmont yesterday. Hawera Holds Seafield Cup. Hawera golfers easily retained the Seafield Cup. beating an Eltham team by eight games to two. Championship matches were played on most Taranaki courses. Attitude Affirmed. The attitude adopted by the New Zealand Dairy Industry Council in relation to the fixing of the guaranteed price for next season was affirmed by a large meeting of the Taranaki industry's leaders at Stratford on Saturday.
