Elderly Woman Killed. An elderly woman was killed in a motor accident on the Napier-Taupo highway. Foxton Winners. Pearl of Asia won the main race at the Foxton club's spring meeting on Saturday, Night Eruption, Good Sun and Kentucky also being prominent. Ohinemuri Meeting. Clinch won the principal event on the opening day of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club's spring meeting at Paeroa. Other winners were Maxam, Hunting Bee and Foxmond. Young Woman Crushed by Car. Crushed under a car as it overturned near Auckland, a young woman was killed. Three ' passengers, including two soldiers, were injured, one of them seriously. Tail Wagging the Dog. CriticLsm of the Dominion Friendly Societies Council action in negotiations with the Government was expressed by Dunedin lodge officers. They said it. was a case of the tail wagging the dog. Nazi Airman Captured.
