WILLOWDELL ENTRY
QUALITY YEARLINGS Three well-grown 15 months old bulls represent the entry from the Willowdell Stud of Mr. M. J. Saywell. a new vendor, who has certainly started right in combining quality with production and constitution. Two of the yearlings are by Woodlands Vagabond. son of the imported Vagabond of Oaklands C.B.B.. champion at New Plymouth and Stratford and reserve at the Royal. sire of numerous C.O.R. cows up to 6441b fat. Vagabond's dam. Woodland's Saloma. H.C. (by Brampton Forward Prince (imp.), had a C.O.R. of 4401b fat, besides winning at all Taranaki shows as a two-year-old. Hovv the strain carries on is demonsrated bv Woodland's Vagabond's son. Woodland's Gay Vagabond. having taken first prize at New Plymouth as a yearling.. and then when two-year-old taking the championship. One yearling, Willowdale Creole. is out of a dam combining the best Ngahiwi strains including Ngahiwi's Gold Jacket. C.B.B., 20 C.O.R. daughters up to 8341b fat, while the dam of Willowdell Jester is a grand-daughter of tbe imported Fairy's Eminent Raleigh. The remaining yearling. Willowdell Royal Patch. carries a double strain of the imported Les Nieme's Emperor. being by Heatherlea Aristocrat. full-bro-t.her to Heatherlea Alice. co-winner of the Manawa tu £500 C.O.R. Stakes and New Zealand Royal champion out of Heatherlea Golden Patch with two records up to 5831b fat. Both sire and dam are bv Heatherlea Rovalist. with six C.O.R. daughters un to 5591b fat at three years. The Willowdell entry at Kaponga will be looked forward to.
