Cargill Silver Lad is by Pinewood's Silver Lad. C.B.B. ,(with nine C.O.R. daughters including Pukatea Dolly. 6601b fat). by Golden Fern's Volunteer (imp.), Royal show champion. 15 C.O.R. daugnt.ers up to 7181b fat out of the Holly Bank Squirc cow, Pinewood's Silver Link, H.C. (C.O.R. 6301b fat three vears, second class). Pinewood's Silver Lad used with marked success in Mr. G. R. Bell's Pukatea Stud, is now in Mr. E. J. Clough's Stud. Cargill Silver Lad's dam. Carsill Fern's Nita. is a paternal grand -daughter of Brampton Standard Compte (imp.). sire of several show winners and C.O.R. cows. whose dam. Standard's Comtesse. had a record of 9331b fat at, six years. and on the mat.crnal side Nita goes back to the great Ivondale Silver Rainbow. 9501h fat. The yearlings Cargill Spotted Earl and Cargill Emblem. are by the junior herd sire. Cargill Standard Earl. whose sire. Pinewood's Standard Earl, is a son of Brampton Standard Compte out of Pinewood s Fern's Fancy. a great producer with an average of '5521b fat under group test for five vears. On the dam's side Cargill Standard Earl also eoes back to Ivondale Silver Rainbow. The dam of Cargill Spotted Earl. Cargill Ferns Lass by the nresent herd sire. Pinewood's Standard Fern. is also a paternal grand-daughter of Brampton Standard Comnte and a maternal descendant of Marshlands Masterpiece — winner of 22 chamrronships and reserves. Tbe dam of Emblem. Remuera Pat"h. at 15 va.rs had a groun record of 3171b fat. in 281 davs. She is a naternal grand-daughter of the imoorted Royal Sultan. while her own dam. Remnera Belle. was a gold med?R1ct with 7851 b fat, a daughter having a C.O.R. of 7381b fat at four years.
