Miss N. Knight. who is to succeed Miss A. B. Campbell as matron of the New Plymouth Hospital. has arrived at New Plymouth from Wellington. Miss Knight will commence duties on Tuesday morning. Miss Burton. Waiheke Island, is visiting New Plymouth and is the guest of Miss Nora Kelly. Mrs. Hull will return to-day to her home at Hastings after a visit to New Plymouth. Miss Mary Sunderland left yesterday , for Wellington to attend the Wcir— Sunderland wedding, which will take place to-day. Mrs. Brian Haybittle is visiting Hawera, where she is staying with her j mother, Mrs. Nicholson. Mrs. G. F. Rich, Mrs. A. G. Cooper and Mrs. H. Barrett were hostesses at a bridge party held at Mrs. Rich s home on Thursday night. Five tables were engaged in play and the guests brought j articles for the jumble stall at the forth- i coming Plunket appeal day. Mrs. J. S. S. Medley has returned to New Plymouth from a holiday at Palm- , erston North and Wellington. "Pay-up" Social. The annual "pay-up" social afternoon , of the W.C.T.U. was held on Wednesday, j Mrs. H.
