TEN SIRES OF CLASS ' ^ Quality, production and constitution -• combined have made the Glenara stud very prominent both in the show ring and in the testing records, so that great interest will centre in Mr. A. G. Colson s offering of one exceptionally bred four-year-old, three quality two-year-olds and six selected yearlings, the dams of the ten averaging 4101b. fat. The four-year-old Fitzroy Major has great butter- t fat backing and consistent _ show suc- y cesses. His sire, Punga Nui Earl, is a double grandson of Ivondale Highlands, whose 12 C.O.R. daughters had records up to 7051b. fat and whose sire, Aster s Golden Laddie, had 14 C.O.R. daughters, including Ivondale Golden Lass, 9051b. fat, and Golden Rainbow, 7681b. fat. Fitzroy Major's dam goes back to the intported C.B.B. Clarion. One two-year-old and three yearlings are by_ Maori Pomare (Bronipton Standard Dance, Imp. —Maori W(isteria, who averaged 398 lb. fat in four successive years.) Pomares first four daughters averaged over 4001b. fat in 305 days. Tulip, the dam of Glenara Tudor, with a G.H.T. of 4191b. fat, also goes back to Clarion. .Pinewoods Standard Zoe, the dam of Standard Success, is by the imported Brampton Standard Compte out of a Pinewoods matron, going back to Viola's Golden Laddie ( imo.). Glenara Entour and 'Glenara
Onestep, are also from consistent producers carrying imported blood. One two-year-old. Glenara Tito, is by Maori Clansman (Brampton Standard Dance— Maori Snow, with eight consecutive records up to 4781b. fat). The two-year-old Glenara Noble Squire, is by Merry Owler— Hua Cissy with G.H.T. records of 3801b fat, 3891b fat and 4051b. The yearling Glenara Noble Count is by Silverley's Brampton Sir (Brampton Royal Rexmore, imp.— Silverley 's Fern Queen, C.O.R. 4481b. fat at three years). Brampton Sir. who has five C.O.R. daughters • up to 6541b. fat at four years, combines two strains of Xenia's Oxford Lad blood. Noble Count's dam carries the blood of Mourier's Oxford Noble and Victors Handsome Prinve (twice). The (yearling Glenara Bonny Prince is by Glenara Gold Shot (Silverley's Brampton Sir—' Mountain Meadow's Elf, 7691b. fat, a great show cow). The other yearling, . Glenara Footloose, is full of the Owler of Puketapu blood, Brampton Volunteer . Sam and Brampton Dreaming Sam blood. Glenara stud has also a quality entry of three two-year-olds and seven yearlings at Hawera.
