SPREADING OF WAR
AXIS POWERS' PURPOSE Chungking, Sept 25. Tfie recent axis conference in Rome revealed the increasing strength of Britain and also indicated the spreading of the European war, according to the infiuential Chinese daily Takung Pao.'* "Germany is suffering a setback in the war on Britain and therefore is anxious to extend the area of the war and to strengthen the axis," it states. "On the other hand as a result of closer AngloAmerican co-operation the strength of Britain is daily increasing."
