GOOD PROGRESS MADE AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS GOVERNMENT PROSPECTS
Rec. 11.45 p.m. Sydney, Sept. 26. Following latest developments in the Federal elections it is now predicted that the Menzies Government will be retumed with almost the same majority as in the last Parliament, 42 to 32, and a very slender majority— about three in the Senate. The latest development is the gocd progress being made by Government candidates in doubtful seats, where the distribution of preferences favour them in most of the 15 doubtful seats.
