OLD MAORI WOMAN DEAD

The funeral took place on Wednesday at Te Aroha pa, Okaiawa, of the late Mrs. Riwaka Rawhiti. Mrs. Rawhiti was bedridden for over 20 years, and she was 89 years old at the time of her death. For the last few years of her life shc had been cared for by.her only surviving son. Mr. Toro Hetaraka, Tempsky Road, Okaiawa, and his wife, Te Wairangi Hetaraka. Her husband. Mr. Rahi Rawhiti, predeceased her about two years ago. The' footballers. Messrs. Tumi, Jack and Pat Toro, are -candsons. A tangi was held at Mr. Toro Hetaraka's home. The Rev. Matarae Tauroa, Methodist Maori missioner, Okaiawa, officated at the funeral.
