PERSONAL

The funeral of Te Whia Keepa Ngapapa, Tawhitinui pa, Otakeho, on Monday was attended by a large gathering of Macris and pakehas, visitors from all parts of South Taranaki paying their last respects. Mr. Ngapapa was highly respected by both races. Like one of his closest relatives, the late Chief Ka- : hupukoro, he was an enthusiastic adherent of the Methodist church. The r.-v. Matane, Tauroa. Methodist Maori missioner, conducted the funeral service. The Rev. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, will probably arrive this evening for the oflicial opening ceremony to-morrow of the Kaponga centennial memorial.
