JOCKEYS' APPEAL

FAILURE IN TWO CASES
Christchurch, September 25. The appeal of five leading jockeys against the granting of conditional licenses for only three months was heard before the appeal judges, the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., and Messrs. F. P. Kelly and G. R. Macdonald at Wellington yesterday. In the cases of A. E. Didham, P. Burgess and G. R. Tattersall the appeals were upheld, but applications on behalf of W. J. Broughton and H. N. Wiggins were refused. Mr. C. S. Tjfciomas appeared for the five appellants, and Mr. H. F. O'Leary, K.C., for the racing conference.
